Before Vinyl Installation
Here is what to expect before your vinyl installation:
- Have a plan for your existing floors. Who is removing them? Do they need to be removed?
- Remove furniture or have a plan in place for someone to remove it for you. You are responsible for moving any fragile items or furniture from your home.
- Measure door clearances. This is to ensure the door does not get caught on the vinyl flooring.
- Ensure children and pets are not present on installation day.
- Complete any painting work.
- Ask any last-minute questions!
During Vinyl Installation
Here's what to expect during your vinyl installation:
- The surface needs to be prepared by our crew. This could involve removing the existing flooring and prepping the subflooring. Vinyl floors can sometimes be installed over your existing floors as a "floating" option.
- Vinyl will still need to be tested so that moisture-related to ensure that gaps do not occur later on.
- For a floating floor, vinyl is secured using an interlocking system. There is also the glue-down installation, where adhesives secure your vinyl planks or tile to the floor.
- We will clean up and then QA the job.
After Vinyl Installation
- Run a fan to remove any installation-related smells.
- Allow 24 hours to settle before walking on your vinyl floors.
